Bombardier's V300 Zefiro train
Plane and train maker Bombardier said Friday it has received a $185-million (U.S.) rail order from Israel Railways for 78 coaches with possible options for more.
Under a framework agreement, rail division Bombardier Transportation will produce the double-deck vehicles at facilities in Germany and in Israel.
"This contract demonstrates the trust that (Israel Railways) has in Bombardier," Yossi Daskal, Bombardier's chief representative in Israel, said in a statement.
"We are proud to continue our successful business relationship with ISR that started in 1999 and to contribute to reliable public transport offering in Israel."
Based in Montreal, Bombardier makes commercial aircraft, business jets to rail transportation equipment, systems and services.
