Followers of this site know that we've been rolling out new features over the past few weeks. The latest one you will immediately notice today is a new location for the stock and fund quote search box.
We had a lot of feedback telling us that the search box at the top right of every page was too high and hard to find. So we've added a second search box right under the Globe Investor logo that is much more convenient.
What has me more excited is what is coming next.
Our technical team has been showing me an upgrade to our live suggest search functionality. Live suggest is the feature that allows you to type in a few letters of a stock or fund and have the rest of the name suggested to you. Our live suggest works fairly well now, but has some large gaps in it, especially when it comes to funds.
Our technical team has been showing me improvements to the intelligence, speed and thoroughness of our live suggest. It is testing well and almost ready to roll out. It includes showing fund codes for all mutual funds so that investors can look up funds on our site and then know what codes to use to buy them with their broker.
Another project our technical team has been busy with is to build out our company financial pages. It started with providing at least 10 years annual financial data for North American companies. For those of you who haven't found it yet, we now also have quarterly data, again going back at least 10 years.
That means full quarterly financial reports for income statements, cash flow statements and balance sheets. We have done our best to make this data load fast and be easy to read. For individual investors, you no longer need to dig your way through dozens of quarterly and annual reports looking for trends in the numbers. It's all at your finger tips now.
Once you're on the financials page, you can tab between income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements, as well as go back in history and change between annual and quarterly results.
And there is still much more to come.
