We're at it again: We need your input on something that needs to be improved.

The problem is with the stock quotes you see within articles.

In recent focus group testing, we found that people liked to see the quotes but weren't always sure what all the numbers meant.

Does this make it clearer?

Secondly, when you click on the ticker you come to this small chart popup.

It has a number of problems. The close button is inconsistent between browsers and most people don't realize what Full Quote means (it takes you to a stock profile page like this link).

Here is what we're thinking of putting on the chart popup. Is it clearer? Will it be useful?

Also, would you prefer to get to this chart popup by clicking on the ticker in the article or by a rollover? The rollover would obviously be faster and convenient, but some people find rollovers annoying.

Finally, here is a new table we're thinking of dropping in the bottom of every article. It would contain all the stocks mentioned in the article.

What do you think? Useful?

As usual, we appreciate all your feedback. It's incredibly valuable. Please leave a comment on this article or email us at globeinvestor@globeandmail.com.
