Mutual fund profiles are one of the most popular features on Globe Investor. But with the number of mutual funds sold in Canada pushing more than 12,000, just finding the right fund can be a daunting task, especially if you don't know its exact name.

To help with this problem we're introducing a new tool to help you find funds. It's called the Fund Lookup tool. Give it a try now, or read some more about it...

You can get to the tool under Funds & ETFs, just click Fund Lookup in the subnavigation, or from the Tools box on the home page -- click Fund Search to the left of the large black markets data area at the top of the page.

The tool helps you search by fund company, asset-class or the fund-manager's name. If you prefer to browse, there's an option to find funds listed alphabetically from A to Z.

There's a fund name and FundServ code search too. It's at the top of the results table. Just type your query in the box and hit 'Go'. That crypic looking FundServ code can be very handy when buying or selling funds. And monthly statements from your discount broker often have the code as the only way to identify which funds you own.

Beside each fund is its latest price, net assets, MER, returns and its five-star rating. From there you can click the fund's name to view its full profile page.

If you're used to the Company Search or Fund Selector tools from the old Globe Fund website, everything you had in those tools is still available, but the new tool should be more powerful and easier to use.

We built this tool with a lot of your feedback, so please use the 'Join the conversation' button to leave your comments on how you like it.

And if you missed it, here's the link to try the new tool again.
