Selling the factory, that's what. Tims shares soared after the chain sold its 50-per-cent stake in Maidstone Bakeries for $475-million, making a pile of dough for shareholders.

Manulife shares plunged after the insurer posted a $2.4-billion quarterly loss earlier this month - and they haven't stopped plunging since.
