Health care professionals and analysts generally reacted with optimism Thursday to the Romanow report on the Future of Health Care. "I think its a huge day," said Michael Decter, head of the Canadian Institute for Health Information.
Decter, a health care economist and supporter of a publicly funding system, said many in the health care field "always thought that medicare in Canada was unfinished business."
Jennifer Price, a clinical nurse at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, called it "a very encouraging report."
"The increase in homecare and pharmaceuticals is excellent," Price said.
