RCMP in Surrey, B.C., say an overnight shooting appears targeted.

Several shots were fired at a home in a central Surrey neighbourhood just before 2 a.m., Thursday morning, but no one in the house was injured.

Mounties say a light coloured, "boxy" car was seen leaving the area but a police service dog and assistance from an RCMP helicopter failed to turn up any suspects.

In a separate incident, a fire late Wednesday afternoon destroyed a home in south Surrey where a man was gunned down in the driveway six days earlier.

Forensic investigators will sift through the remains, trying to determine what sparked the blaze, but officials say the damage won't impede the murder probe.

They say they have already collected all necessary evidence linked to the apparently targeted shooting of 51-year-old Surrey resident Randall Davis on Oct. 7.
