Tamarack Valley Energy Ltd. (TVE-T) has been disposing of its non-core assets to focus on becoming a pure-play Clearwater formation producer in Alberta. On Sept. 8, it doubled down on Clearwater by announcing a merger with Headwater Exploration Inc. (HWX-T). Since the merger news, two Tamarack Valley insiders have spent $685,058 buying a total of 51,568 shares at an average price of $13.28. The biggest buyer was director Caralyn Bennett who bought 36,568 shares at $13.26. Chief financial officer Kevin Johnston bought 15,000 shares at an average price of $13.44.
