The S&P/TSX Composite had a difficult week, falling 2.2 per cent to Friday’s close, and is now 14.3 per cent higher for 2026. The benchmark’s Relative Strength Index (RSI) of 42 puts it in the lower end of technical neutral territory, closer to the oversold buy signal of 30 than the overbought, technically vulnerable 70 sell signal.
There are no overbought index constituents this week for the first time I can remember. There are 17 oversold index stocks led by Crombie REIT, Smartcentres REIT, Dollarama Inc., Allied Properties REIT and Hydro One Ltd.. Sienna Senior Living Inc., Brookfield Corp., and Telus Corp .are also on the list.
There is only one stock showing strong momentum by hitting new 52-week highs this week – CES Energy Solutions Inc. There are four companies making new 52-week lows – Gildan Activewear Inc., Element Fleet Management Corp., Algonquin Power and Utilities Ltd. and Stella Jones Inc.
