An update from American Superconductor ( (AMSC) ) is now available.

On June 1, 2026, American Superconductor’s board and compensation committee approved an executive incentive plan for fiscal 2026, covering the year ending March 31, 2027, for the chief executive and other executive officers. The plan sets target cash incentives as a percentage of base salary and allows payouts up to 200% of target, with awards for executives other than the CEO determined by the committee and the CEO’s award set by the board.

Incentive payouts will depend on non-GAAP net income, revenues and operating expenses versus fiscal 2026 targets, weighted 50%, 25% and 25% respectively, underscoring a balanced focus on profitability, growth and cost control. For fiscal 2026, CEO Daniel P. McGahn’s target incentive is set at 100% of his base salary, or $754,000, while CFO John W. Kosiba Jr. has a 75% target, or $351,000, aligning leadership compensation more tightly with financial performance outcomes.

Spark’s Take on AMSC Stock

According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, AMSC is a Outperform.

The score is driven primarily by improving financial performance (growth and profitability with low leverage) and a constructive technical setup. These positives are partially offset by expensive valuation (high P/E) and earnings-quality/one-time item risks highlighted by mixed cash flow conversion and acquisition/tax-related variability.
