American Tower Completes $1.6 Billion Senior Notes Offering

Tipranks - Tue Sep 15, 4:58PM CDT

An update from American Tower ( (AMT) ) is now available.

On September 14, 2026, American Tower completed a registered public offering of $1.6 billion in senior unsecured notes, split among tranches maturing in 2031, 2033 and 2036 with coupons ranging from 5.300% to 5.750%. The notes carry semi-annual interest payments in U.S. dollars beginning March 2027 and are governed by an indenture that sets limits on mergers, asset sales and the incurrence of liens, subject to defined exceptions.

The company plans to use the net proceeds to repay $600 million of 1.450% notes due 2026, reduce borrowings under its $6.0 billion multicurrency revolving credit facility and fund general corporate purposes. The new debt structure, which includes make-whole and par redemption options, change-of-control repurchase rights and detailed default provisions, is designed to support American Tower’s financing flexibility while managing leverage and covenant protections for noteholders.

The most recent analyst rating on (AMT) stock is a Buy
with a $214.00 price target.

Spark’s Take on AMT Stock

According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, AMT is a Neutral.

AMT scores strongest on operating fundamentals and the latest earnings call, reflecting high margins, solid free cash flow, and raised 2026 guidance (notably data-center momentum). The overall score is held back primarily by balance-sheet leverage risk, while technical signals are neutral and valuation is moderate due to a premium P/E partly offset by a ~4% dividend yield.
