Banco Bilbao ( (BBVA) ) just unveiled an update.
Banco Bilbao reported an attributed profit of €10.5 billion for 2025, underpinned by strong growth in net interest income and fees, a 14.1% rise in customer loans, and solid risk indicators, including a 2.7% non-performing loan ratio and an 85% coverage ratio. The bank delivered high returns for shareholders, with tangible book value plus dividends up 12.8% year-on-year, a ROTE of 19.3%, ROE of 18.4%, and an efficiency ratio of 38.8%, while maintaining a robust CET1 capital ratio of 12.7%, comfortably above its target and minimum regulatory requirements. Operationally, BBVA achieved record customer acquisition of 11.5 million new clients in 2025, 66% via digital channels, reinforcing its digital banking strategy, and it advanced its sustainability agenda by channeling €134 billion in sustainable business, up 44% versus 2024, toward a 2025–2029 target of €700 billion, signaling an increased long-term commitment to green and socially responsible finance.
