BBVA Delivers Record €10.5 Billion Profit and Unveils Historic Shareholder Payout for 2025

BBVA reported a record net profit of €10.511 billion for 2025, up 4.5% year-on-year, driven by strong recurring income, double‑digit loan growth of 16.2% in constant euros and market share gains across key geographies, notably Spain, Mexico and Turkey. The bank maintained a robust CET1 capital ratio of 12.7% and delivered a 19.3% ROTE, while boosting shareholder value through a 15.2% increase in book value per share plus dividends and announcing the largest cash dividend in its history, €0.92 per share, totaling about €5.249 billion and 31% higher than in 2024, alongside an almost €4 billion share buyback program. Operationally, BBVA’s lending supported 160,000 home purchases, one million SMEs and self‑employed clients, and 73,000 large companies, while it mobilized €30.2 billion for social initiatives and attracted a record 11.5 million new customers—two‑thirds via digital channels—underpinning management’s confidence in outgrowing competitors and lifting profitability towards 20% under its new strategic plan through 2028.
