Banco Bilbao ( (BBVA) ) just unveiled an update.

Banco Bilbao reported an attributable profit of €10.51 billion for 2025, underpinned by strong growth in net interest income and fees alongside a 14.1% increase in customer loans. The bank highlighted robust risk metrics, including a cost of risk of 1.39%, an NPL ratio of 2.7% and a coverage ratio of 85%, supporting a solid capital position with a CET1 ratio of 12.7%, comfortably above its regulatory requirements.

Profitability and efficiency indicators remained strong, with ROTE at 19.3%, ROE at 18.4% and an efficiency ratio of 38.8%, while tangible book value plus dividends grew 12.8% year on year. Banco Bilbao also continued to accelerate customer acquisition, driven by digital channels that accounted for 66% of new retail customers, and advanced its sustainable finance strategy by channelling €134 billion of sustainable business in 2025 toward a €700 billion target for the 2025–2029 period.

These results reinforce the bank’s competitive positioning in European and international banking, combining high profitability with disciplined risk management and capital strength. The strong growth in digital customer acquisition and sustainability-linked business suggests an ongoing shift of the bank’s operating model toward more technology-driven and ESG-focused activities, with potential long-term benefits for shareholders and other stakeholders.

The most recent analyst rating on (BBVA) stock is a Buy with a $29.00 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on Banco Bilbao stock, see the BBVA Stock Forecast page.
