Avis Budget ( (CAR) ) has issued an announcement.
On May 29, 2026, Avis Budget Car Rental and Avis Budget Finance issued an additional $300 million of 8.000% senior notes due 2031, bringing the total size of that series to $800 million and further extending the company’s long-term debt stack. The notes, which accrue interest from May 15, 2026 and are guaranteed on a senior unsecured basis by Avis Budget Group and key subsidiaries, carry semi-annual coupon payments and a maturity date of February 15, 2031.
The issuers plan to use the proceeds, along with cash on hand, to redeem a portion of their 5.750% senior notes due 2027, effectively refinancing nearer-term obligations at a higher coupon but longer duration. The indenture governing the notes includes typical high-yield covenants restricting dividends, new liens, investments, asset sales, major corporate transactions, and subsidiary designations, helping protect noteholders while shaping the company’s financial flexibility and capital allocation options over the life of the bonds.

Spark’s Take on CAR Stock
According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, CAR is a Neutral.
The score is held down primarily by weak financial fundamentals—recent losses and a fragile capital structure with negative equity and high leverage—despite solid operating cash generation. Earnings-call signals are moderately positive (raised EBITDA guidance and improving operating metrics), but mixed technical momentum and limited valuation support keep the overall profile below average.
