Crown Castle ( (CCI) ) just unveiled an announcement.

On May 1, 2026, Crown Castle completed the $8.5 billion sale of its fiber solutions business to Zayo and small cell business to Arium Networks, netting about $8.4 billion after preliminary adjustments and transforming itself into the only large, U.S.-focused, pure-play public tower company. The company plans to use the proceeds to repurchase up to $1 billion of its common stock and pay down more than $7 billion of debt, while updating its 2026 outlook to reflect lower interest expense and higher interest income, and it also announced the resignation of Executive Vice President and COO–Fiber Christopher D. Levendos as he departs for a role at Zayo.

The most recent analyst rating on (CCI) stock is a Buy with a $92.00 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on Crown Castle stock, see the CCI Stock Forecast page.

Spark’s Take on CCI Stock

According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, CCI is a Neutral.

The score is primarily held back by balance-sheet fragility (negative equity and high leverage) and a weak revenue trajectory, despite strong free cash flow. Technical indicators are neutral-to-slightly constructive, while valuation is a meaningful headwind due to the very high P/E even with a solid dividend yield. The earnings call adds moderate support from maintained guidance, cost savings, and planned deleveraging, tempered by DISH-related uncertainty and transition execution risk.
