Canadian Natural ( (TSE:CNQ) ) has provided an update.

Canadian Natural Resources reported a record second quarter on August 6, 2026, with total production reaching about 1.68 million BOE/d, up 18% year over year, and liquids output at 1.25 million bbl/d, driven by record oil sands mining, Jackfish thermal in situ and North American conventional volumes. Oil sands mining and upgrading achieved its highest quarterly production of roughly 625,000 bbl/d, strong upgrader utilization of 106% and per-barrel netbacks near $78, supported by a US$8.37/bbl SCO premium to WTI and low operating costs.

Financially, the company posted record adjusted net earnings of $4.6 billion and adjusted funds flow of $6.9 billion in the quarter, while returning about $4.0 billion to shareholders through dividends, share buybacks and net debt reduction to $14.5 billion as of June 30, 2026. Following a $761 million acquisition of Peace River assets and strong drilling results, Canadian Natural raised its 2026 production guidance for the second time without increasing its roughly $6.0 billion operating capital budget, underscoring capital discipline and reinforcing its strategy of using free cash flow to fund growth, deleverage and sustain a 26-year dividend growth streak.
