Cencora ( (COR) ) just unveiled an announcement.
On February 17, 2026, Cencora agreed to merge its MWI Animal Health business with Covetrus in a deal that values MWI at $3.5 billion and exceeds its current book value. The combined company aims to create a broad animal health platform spanning distribution, pharmacy and technology, while Cencora retains strategic exposure to the sector through a sizeable minority stake.
Under the terms announced on February 18, 2026, Cencora will receive $1.25 billion in cash, $800 million in perpetual preferred equity and $1.45 billion in common equity, resulting in a 34.3% non‑controlling interest in the merged entity. The transaction, which is subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions, is expected to enhance scale, efficiency and access across the animal health ecosystem, and Cencora reaffirmed its fiscal 2026 guidance without assuming a closing before September 30, 2026.
The most recent analyst rating on (COR) stock is a Hold with a $399.00 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on Cencora stock, see the COR Stock Forecast page.

COR scores positively on momentum and an upgraded FY2026 outlook, supported by strong cash generation. The overall score is held back by elevated leverage and thin margins, and a demanding valuation (high P/E with a modest dividend yield) that leaves less room for execution missteps.
