Junior Gold Explorer Rallies After Posting Impressive Newfoundland Drill Results

As markets moved lower amid rising tensions surrounding Greenland, commodities such as gold and silver emerged as the primary beneficiaries, viewed by investors as hedges against heightened volatility. Against this backdrop, the timing was ideal for a junior miner that reported strong high-grade gold results, sending its shares sharply higher on the day.
Canterra Minerals Corp. (TSX-Venture: CTM)(OTCQB: CTMCF) reported strong high-grade gold results from its fall 2025 diamond drilling program at the 100%-owned Wilding Gold Project in central Newfoundland, located adjacent to Equinox Gold’s (TSX: EQX)(NYSE American: EQX) Valentine Mine. The standout intercept came from the Elm Zone, where drilling returned 31.5 metres averaging 10.89 g/t gold, including a higher-grade interval of 41.0 g/t gold over 5.4 metres starting at shallow depth. In total, the company completed 1,243 metres of large-diameter core drilling across 18 holes targeting the Elm and Alder zones, as well as a newly identified target known as Aspen.
Results from the program indicate meaningful scale and continuity across the project. At the Alder Zone, shallow drilling intersected high-grade gold close to surface, reinforcing the potential for near-term resource development. The Elm Zone is now interpreted as a mineralized corridor extending roughly 300 metres along strike and 100 metres down dip, with consistent high-grade quartz-sulphide veins and surrounding alteration pointing to a broader hydrothermal system. Meanwhile, first-pass drilling at the Aspen target returned anomalous gold values, expanding the known footprint of gold-bearing structures and highlighting additional exploration upside.
“These results demonstrate that Wilding has the potential to host a high-grade, district-scale gold system in one of Canada’s most attractive mining jurisdictions,” said Chris Pennimpede, President and CEO of Canterra. “As global uncertainty continues to drive interest in secure North American gold assets, we believe Canterra is well positioned to create long-term value through disciplined exploration next door to Atlantic Canada’s largest gold producer.”
Shares of CTM were last trading up 18.42% at $0.225, while U.S. listed shares (CTMCF) were surging 13.26% at $0.16 in late-morning trading.
