Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson ( (ERIC) ) just unveiled an announcement.

Ericsson announced on June 16, 2026, that Executive Vice President and Head of Business Area Networks Per Narvinger will become President and CEO on October 1, 2026, succeeding Börje Ekholm. Narvinger, who joined the company in 1997 and has led key business areas and global customer engagements, is seen by the board as combining deep technical expertise with strong commercial experience at a critical moment for AI-driven connectivity.

Börje Ekholm, who has served nearly a decade as CEO and two decades on Ericsson’s board, will step down as CEO on September 30, 2026, leave the board on October 1, 2026, and remain as executive advisor to Narvinger until June 15, 2027. The board framed the move as the culmination of a planned leadership succession after Ekholm’s tenure, during which Ericsson strengthened its position as a leading provider of trusted communications networks and positioned itself for the emerging “physical AI” era.

Spark’s Take on ERIC Stock

According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, ERIC is a Outperform.

The score is driven primarily by improved profitability, strong free cash flow quality, and manageable leverage, reinforced by constructive trend signals and a modest P/E. It is held back by declining revenue in 2025/TTM, historical volatility, and near-term risks from FX pressure, elevated restructuring costs, Enterprise segment losses, and potential H2 input-cost inflation.
