Ero Copper ( (TSE:ERO) ) has issued an update.
On Feb. 23, 2026, Ero Copper released its inaugural Preliminary Economic Assessment for the Furnas Copper-Gold Project in Brazil, outlining a 24-year initial mine life and an average of about 108,000 tonnes of copper equivalent output annually over the first 15 years. The study indicates robust economics with an after-tax NPV (8%) of roughly $2.0 billion, a 27% after-tax IRR, low life-of-mine C1 cash costs near $0.30 per pound of copper, and initial capital of about $1.3 billion, positioning Furnas as a potential cornerstone, low-cost operation in Ero’s growth pipeline and reinforcing its partnership-driven expansion strategy.
The assessment, which remains preliminary and includes inferred resources, highlights more than 1.2 million tonnes of copper plus substantial gold and silver production over the mine life and notes significant upside from further drilling and process enhancements such as magnetite recovery and gravity pre-concentration. Ero has already completed extensive drilling campaigns and plans an additional 50,000 meters of drilling through 2026 to upgrade resources and extend high-grade zones, a program that could improve the project’s scale and economics and further strengthen the company’s competitive position in global copper and gold markets.

Spark’s Take on TSE:ERO Stock
According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, TSE:ERO is a Neutral.
