HIVE Digital Technologies ( (TSE:HIVE) ) has issued an announcement.
HIVE Digital Technologies has activated its BUZZ AI Cloud GPU cluster in Asunción, Paraguay, marking the company’s first live AI and high-performance computing deployment layered onto its renewable power base in the country. Hosted in a Tier-III data center and backed by hydroelectric power and a national fiber backbone, the site is intended as a proof of concept for delivering low-latency AI cloud services across borders and supporting future Tier-III expansion in Yguazú.
An academic team from Columbia University in New York is now running large language model pre-training and optimization research on the BUZZ Cloud infrastructure, generating real-world performance data on latency, throughput, and workload management between New York and Asunción. HIVE plans to use these findings, along with emerging South American demand and its capital position, to guide its roadmap for scaling commercial AI and HPC capacity in Paraguay through 2027 and position the country as a potential regional AI infrastructure hub.
