Hitachi Lifts Revenue and Profit on Lumada and Infrastructure Demand in Fiscal 2025

Hitachi reported consolidated revenues of 10,586.7 billion yen for fiscal 2025, an 8% year-on-year increase driven by expansion of its Lumada digital business, strong demand for energy transmission equipment, solid digital systems demand in Japan, and robust performance in its rail control operations. Profitability improved substantially, with adjusted operating income rising by 227.6 billion yen to 1,199.2 billion yen and adjusted EBITA climbing to 1,311.4 billion yen, reflecting stronger margins in the energy and digital systems segments.

Income before income taxes rose by 310.3 billion yen to 1,273.1 billion yen, and despite higher tax expenses, net income increased by 194.5 billion yen to 851.4 billion yen, including 802.3 billion yen attributable to Hitachi shareholders. The results underscore Hitachi’s successful pivot toward higher-margin digital and infrastructure businesses, reinforcing its competitive position in energy and mobility markets while signaling sustained earnings momentum for investors and other stakeholders.
