International Flavors & Fragrances ( (IFF) ) just unveiled an update.
On May 29, 2026, IFF agreed to sell substantially all assets of its Food Ingredients business, which includes texturants, emulsifiers, plant-based solutions and other specialty ingredients, to funds advised by CVC Capital Partners, while retaining an approximately 10% minority stake to support ongoing collaboration and future value participation. The Food Ingredients unit, now classified as held for sale and treated as discontinued operations, represents a strategic shift expected to have a major effect on IFF’s operations and results, sharpening its focus on core Taste, Scent and Health & Biosciences businesses and underpinning a portfolio transformation aimed at higher growth, margins and cash generation.
For the second quarter ended June 30, 2026, IFF reported $1.95 billion in net sales from continuing operations, up 2% year over year, with currency-neutral sales rising 6% and adjusted operating EBITDA reaching $408 million alongside improved cash flow and leverage metrics. The company introduced full-year 2026 guidance on a continuing-operations basis, detailed a plan to use divestiture proceeds to reduce debt by more than $1 billion and support an enhanced $2.5 billion share repurchase program, signaling confidence in its long-term value creation and clearer visibility into the performance of its streamlined portfolio.

Spark’s Take on IFF Stock
According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, IFF is a Neutral.
IFF scores as a moderate-quality opportunity driven mainly by improving but still inconsistent financial performance (profit rebound and moderating leverage, tempered by multi-year volatility and weak cash conversion). Technicals add incremental support with the price above key moving averages and positive MACD. The latest earnings call reinforces the recovery narrative via reaffirmed guidance and Q1 margin gains, but near-term margin/cost headwinds and pricing timing risks keep the score from moving higher; valuation is reasonable but not clearly cheap at a ~23x P/E.
