Tariffs and Strong Assay Results Drive Shares Of This Junior Miner Higher

Donald Trump’s copper tariff announcement has already pushed shares of copper miners higher. Adding to the momentum, a junior miner released impressive assay results today, creating a strong recipe for a higher share price as reflected in today's trading action.
As mentioned, shares of Intrepid Metals Corp. (TSX-Venture: INTR)(OTCQB: IMTCF) are on the move higher as the company released impressive assay results from two additional diamond drill holes at the Ringo Zone of its Corral Copper Property in Cochise County, Arizona.
The highlight includes a substantial 216.50-meter intercept grading 0.71% copper (0.85% CuEq) starting just 29 meters from surface in Hole CC25_029. Within that interval are higher-grade sections, including 10.25 meters of 5.94% copper (6.51% CuEq), showcasing strong near-surface copper-gold-silver mineralization. A second hole, CC25_030, returned 98.20 meters at 0.70% CuEq, including 5.85 meters grading an impressive 3.50% CuEq.
These results are part of Intrepid’s ongoing 2025 drill campaign, which has so far completed 11 holes across the Ringo, Earp, and Holliday zones, with a twelfth hole currently in progress. The company believes these latest assays strengthen the case for Corral as an emerging copper asset in a promising mineral district. With consistent mineralization and strong grades, the project is showing potential to become a valuable contributor to future copper supply.
"Our 2025 drill campaign continues to deliver strong copper and gold results from the Ringo Zone," said Ken Engquist, CEO of Intrepid Metals. "We're especially encouraged by the success of our northern drilling extension, which is showing potential expansion of this mineralized zone. Beyond the impressive intervals of continuous, locally high-grade mineralization, we're now seeing clear signs of a transition toward copper-gold porphyry-style systems. This reinforces Ringo's potential as a shallow, bulk-minable porphyry target. And it's just one of several newly identified porphyry centers within our rapidly advancing exploration program at Corral."
Shares of INTR are currently up 11.83% at $0.52 while U.S. listed shares (IMTCF) are trading up 13.72% at $0.387 in early-afternoon trading.
