Marex Group plc ( (MRX) ) has shared an update.
On 9 June 2026, Marex Group plc completed a U.S.$500 million offering of perpetual subordinated resettable fixed rate hybrid notes, commonly treated as hybrid capital. The company plans to use the proceeds for general corporate purposes, including repurchasing up to U.S.$100 million of existing high-coupon contingent convertible notes via a tender offer and funding future acquisitions.
Chief executive Ian Lowitt highlighted that the new securities are expected to receive full equity credit from S&P following Marex’s planned redomiciliation to Bermuda and were priced at 7.7%, significantly below the 13.25% coupon on the prior AT1 issuance, underscoring lower funding costs. Strong oversubscription and broad participation from both existing and new investors were presented as evidence of growing confidence in Marex’s strategy and continued expansion, reinforcing its capital position and flexibility for further growth initiatives.
