An update from MYR Group ( (MYRG) ) is now available.
On May 27, 2026, MYR Group Inc. announced it had entered a definitive agreement to acquire Valley Holdings I, Inc. and its subsidiaries, including Valley Electric Company, Inc. and Comet Electric, Inc., for approximately $328 million, subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions. The deal, to be funded with cash on hand and borrowings under MYR Group’s revolving credit facility, also includes contingent consideration and compensation tied to performance targets and retention of key Valley executives.
Valley Electric, based in Everett, Wash., and Comet Electric, based in Chatsworth, Calif., are among the largest full-service electrical contractors in the Western U.S., with combined average annual revenues exceeding $400 million over the past two years. The acquisition, approved by seller Prospect Capital Corporation and MYR Group’s board and expected to close on or about July 1, 2026, is poised to expand MYR Group’s commercial and industrial service offerings and geographic reach, reinforcing its competitive position by adding sizable, design-capable workforces and diversified project portfolios in core Western markets.

The score is driven mainly by strong financial positioning (low leverage, improved profitability, solid current cash flow) and a very constructive earnings update (record results, record backlog, and upgraded 2026 growth/margin guidance). Technicals add support via a clear uptrend, while valuation (P/E 23.434 and no dividend yield provided) is the primary constraint.
