ORDER ON PSYCHEDELIC: A psychedelic used in some countries to treat post-traumatic stress disorder is expected to get a closer examination from the federal government on its safety and effectiveness, CBS News’ Jennifer Jacobs and Celine Gounder report, citing sources. The White House is drafting an executive order that would signal the Trump administration’s willingness to further U.S. research into a drug called ibogaine, the authors add. Ibogaine, a naturally occurring compound from a shrub native to Africa, is used to treat depression, anxiety, addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder and brain trauma. Clearmind Medicine (CMND), AtaiBeckley (ATAI), Cybin (HELP), Definium Therapeutics (DFTX), GH Research (GHRS), Compass Pathways (CMPS) and Psyence Biomedical (PBM) are trading higher following the news.

STRAIT OF HORMUZ: Iran Foreign Minister Araghchi states, “In line with the ceasefire in Lebanon, the passage for all commercial vessels through Strait of Hormuz is declared completely open for the remaining period of ceasefire, on the coordinated route as already announced by Ports and Maritime Organisation of the Islamic Rep. of Iran.”

In a post on Truth Social, President Trump stated, “THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ IS COMPLETELY OPEN AND READY FOR BUSINESS AND FULL PASSAGE, BUT THE NAVAL BLOCKADE WILL REMAIN IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT AS IT PERTAINS TO IRAN, ONLY, UNTIL SUCH TIME AS OUR TRANSACTION WITH IRAN IS 100% COMPLETE. THIS PROCESS SHOULD GO VERY QUICKLY IN THAT MOST OF THE POINTS ARE ALREADY NEGOTIATED.”

ANTHROPIC MYTHOS AI: The U.S. government is preparing to make a version of Anthropic PBC’s artificial intelligence model, Mythos, available to major federal agencies amid concerns it could increase cybersecurity risk, according to a memo reviewed by Bloomberg, Jake Bleiberg and Margi Murphy report. The White House Office of Management and Budget is setting up protections to allow agencies to use Mythos, with more information to be provided “in the coming weeks,” according to the report. Anthropic has limited the release of Mythos due to concerns that hackers could weaponize its capabilities to steal data or sabotage victim networks, and has briefed senior U.S. government officials on the model’s capabilities.
