POSCO ( (PKX) ) just unveiled an update.
POSCO HOLDINGS reported that its subsidiary POSCO E&C suffered a serious industrial accident on June 9, 2026, at the Shinansan Line Section 3-2 construction site in Korea, where a worker died after falling from height during electrical work preparation in a vertical shaft. The cause of the fall has not yet been identified, and the incident underscores operational safety risks associated with the company’s construction activities.
The company said the police and the Ministry of Employment and Labor completed site inspections on June 9, 2026, and that accident prevention measures are being drafted to avoid similar incidents. On the same day, the Seoul Regional Employment and Labor Office’s Gwanak Branch ordered a partial suspension of work for all vertical cable lining operations in Section 3-2, a regulatory action that may temporarily disrupt project progress and heighten scrutiny of POSCO E&C’s safety management.
Spark’s Take on PKX Stock
According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, PKX is a Neutral.
The score is held down primarily by weak financial performance (thin margins, low ROE, and negative free cash flow) and bearish technicals (price below major DMAs with negative MACD and very weak RSI/Stoch). Valuation is also a headwind due to the high P/E, partially tempered by a moderate dividend yield.
