POSCO Holdings Unveils Triple-Core Growth and Capital Strategy at 2026 CEO Investor Day

Tipranks - Fri Jul 3, 8:22AM CDT

4th of July Sale - 70% Off

An announcement from POSCO ( (PKX) ) is now available.

On July 2, 2026, POSCO Holdings outlined a mid- to long-term portfolio transformation and financial strategy at its CEO Investor Day in Seoul. The group plans a “Triple-Core” portfolio built around Industrial, Strategic and Energy Resources, targeting overseas crude steel capacity of 10 million tons by 2031, lithium production of 173,000 tons by 2033 to rank among the top five global producers, and a broader footprint in rare earths, specialty gases, LNG and renewable energy.

Management set 2028 financial goals of KRW 87.9 trillion in consolidated revenue and KRW 6.7 trillion in operating profit, supported by KRW 29.1 trillion in investment from 2026 to 2028. POSCO also announced a shareholder value-focused capital policy, aiming for a 35–40% payout of adjusted net income via dividends and buybacks, reducing holding-company discounts by monetizing some listed subsidiaries, and targeting a price-to-book ratio of at least 1.0x by 2028, signaling a bid to re-rate the stock and strengthen its strategic positioning in global resource markets.

Spark’s Take on PKX Stock

According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, PKX is a Neutral.

The score is held down primarily by weak financial performance (thin margins, low ROE, and negative free cash flow) and bearish technicals (price below major DMAs with negative MACD and very weak RSI/Stoch). Valuation is also a headwind due to the high P/E, partially tempered by a moderate dividend yield.
