The Company along with its subsidiaries is mainly engaged in the provision of Internet and mobile value-added services (VAS), online advertising services and eCommerce transactions services to users in the People's Republic of China. The Company has following reportable segments: VAS; Online advertising; and eCommerce transactions. Revenues from VAS are derived mainly from the provision of online games, community value-added services and applications across various Internet and mobile platforms. Online advertising revenues are mainly derived from display advertisements to instant messaging clients, and on portals, social networks and other platforms operated by the Company . It also includes income derived from performance based advertisements in which the revenue is linked to actual performance measurement. Revenues derived from eCommerce transactions business of the Company mainly arise from sales of merchandise through the Company's Internet platforms. Its core media platforms include QQ, Qzone, Weixin, WeChat, QQ.com, Tencent Microblog and Tencent Video.
