An announcement from USA Rare Earth ( (USAR) ) is now available.
USA Rare Earth said on July 23, 2026 that it had signed definitive agreements to acquire a strategic minority stake of about 13.6% in French rare earth processor Carester, alongside a similar investment by InfraVia’s Critical Metals Fund. The deal, expected to fund in the third quarter of 2026, formalizes an April 2026 framework and includes commercial arrangements giving USA Rare Earth and its LCM Europe unit access to Carester’s rare earth oxides while providing Carester with feedstock from Serra Verde and the Round Top deposit.
Carester is building its Caremag magnet recycling and heavy rare earth separation facility in Lacq, France, slated to start operations in the fourth quarter of 2026 and ramp up to significant shares of global dysprosium and terbium oxide output. The investment underpins a broader plan by USA Rare Earth, LCM Europe and Carester to create an integrated rare earth industrial ecosystem in Lacq, supported by French government incentives, positioning Europe as a key midstream and downstream hub in a Western-aligned rare earth and magnet supply chain.

Spark’s Take on USAR Stock
According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, USAR is a Neutral.
USAR scores in the low-to-mid range primarily due to weak profitability and a bearish technical setup (price well below key moving averages and negative MACD). Offsetting these risks are a strong, low-leverage balance sheet and improved TTM cash flow, plus earnings-call evidence of substantial financing and operational progress—though near-term losses, lack of formal guidance, and dilution/execution risk keep the overall score constrained.
