Verisign Issues New Senior Notes to Refinance Debt

TipRanks' Prime Week Sale - 70% Off

The latest announcement is out from Verisign ( (VRSN) ).

On June 18, 2026, Verisign entered into an underwriting agreement with J.P. Morgan Securities, BofA Securities and U.S. Bancorp Investments for a registered offering of $550 million in 5.100% Senior Notes due 2031, with closing expected on June 26, 2026. The notes will be issued under Verisign’s existing indenture structure, represented by two global securities, and are expected to generate approximately $545 million in net proceeds after underwriting discounts and offering expenses.

Verisign plans to use the proceeds from this new 2031 note issuance, together with cash on hand, to redeem its outstanding $550 million 4.750% Senior Notes due 2027, effectively refinancing its debt and extending its maturity profile. This transaction adjusts the company’s capital structure by replacing nearer-term, slightly lower-coupon debt with longer-dated obligations, which may impact interest expense timing and provides greater visibility on Verisign’s long-term financing arrangements for stakeholders.

The most recent analyst rating on (VRSN) stock is a Hold
with a $308.00 price target.
