Wheaton Precious Metals ( (TSE:WPM) ) has provided an update.

Wheaton Precious Metals has struck a new silver streaming deal with BHP covering its 33.75% share of silver production from the Antamina mine in Peru, lifting Wheaton’s total claim on Antamina silver to 67.5%. The agreement, effective April 2026, will see Wheaton pay $4.3 billion upfront and 20% of the spot silver price on delivery, significantly boosting its reserves and cementing Antamina as its second-largest asset.

The transaction is expected to add an average of about 6 million ounces of attributable silver production annually over the first five years from the new stream, and 12 million ounces per year when combined with Wheaton’s existing Antamina exposure. Management frames the deal as highly accretive, increasing 2026 production by over 11% on a pro-forma basis, enhancing portfolio diversification, and reinforcing Wheaton’s position as a leading silver producer amid tightening supply and rising industrial and safe-haven demand for silver.

The most recent analyst rating on (TSE:WPM) stock is a Buy with a C$240.00 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on Wheaton Precious Metals stock, see the TSE:WPM Stock Forecast page.

Score is driven primarily by strong financial performance (high margins and extremely low leverage) and a constructive earnings update with robust production/financial momentum and strong liquidity. Technicals are supportive but overbought signals add near-term risk, while valuation is the largest headwind due to a high P/E and low dividend yield.
