Everyone’s favourite obsessive detective has returned to PBS, and this time he’s gone full Victorian. Benedict Cumberbatch is back as Sherlock Holmes, the inscrutable reincarnation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s character who first appeared in the late 1880s. Now, the modern take on the story has gone back in time to that exact period – and stylistically, it’s a feat. Since Cumberbatch has a legion of adoring fans, it’s undoubted their devotion will soon lead to a few Victorian accoutrements making their way into wardrobes. To truly take on the look, a vintage brooch from the era is key – affix in the centre of your collar for maximum prim-ness. Outerwear is strict: Rag & Bone’s sleek buttoned vest or Alexander McQueen’s peplumed jacket fit the bill perfectly. Topping the look off with a regal fascinator is elementary, of course.
