Backstage access to follow director Atom Egoyan's production of Cruel & Tender from script to stage was one of the many priceless experiences up for grabs at Canadian Stage's Theatre Ball. Inspired by the Spotlight on Italy festival currently on until March 26 at the Berkeley Street Theatre, the "Notte Italiana" themed evening included a four-course dinner (complete with a cannoli for dessert, of course) at the new Ritz-Carlton hotel in Toronto. 400 guests raised over $300,000 for Canadian Stage's artistic programming, development activities, education and youth initiatives.
