@thehopshop: Do you ever cook with lavender? What are your favourite lavender recipes?

Jamie Oliver: A few sprigs of lavender are great to flavour salt, along with fennel seeds, chili, paprika and dried lemon zest. Whiz it all up and you have a low-salt seasoning to be used on veg, meat, whatever you like – it's not overpowering, it just lifts everything. Lavender flowers are also great sprinkled on desserts, or used to infuse syrups, icings or pastry, but can be very perfumed, so use sparingly.
