wine review

One of the most familiar labels in the vinho verde firmament has a new package design – the label is cleaner and the bottle is a lighter green. This also is one of the few Portuguese wines to carry a screw cap – a renegade move in a country that dominates cork production. The wine is crisp and refreshing, and good for the money, with a very light spritz and flavours of citrus and green apple. Nice as an aperitif or with light seafood dishes and salads. $12.49 in Saskatchewan, $10.99 in Manitoba, $11.30 in Quebec, $12.99 in Newfoundland.
