Here's a fine introduction to the Rioja region at a good price. Medium full-bodied, with a sweet berry core, this red finds dry balance with a light layer of astringent tannins and essences of earth and iron. Pork, including baked ham, should match nicely. It's on sale for $16.95 in Ontario until Nov. 6.
