wine review

Superb red for the money. Full, ripe, succulent and jammy with dark berries. It's supple, yet with juicy acidity, lively black pepper and a bushel of those wild herbs known in southern France as garrigue. A blend of mostly grenache with 10-per-cent syrah and 5-per-cent mourvèdre, it drinks better than many $50 reds from nearby Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Available in Ontario.
