The Lurton clan of Bordeaux has done a splendid job with this sauvignon blanc from the southern Languedoc district of Minervois. It's like lean Loire Valley sauvignon crossed with Chile's sunnier interpretation of the grape. Light and bone-dry, it offers crisp lemon and herbs with a faintly smoky-mineral note that I tend to associate with Sancerre. Bargain.
