The beautiful, bright-red label bears a Chinese character in gold that welcomes the Year of the Sheep, which begins Feb. 19. Crafted to harmonize with aromatic Asian dishes, this white blend of gewürztraminer, chardonnay and viognier is produced at Okanagan Crush Pad, which makes a variety of brands on contract, including its own excellent Haywire label. Medium-bodied and silky, it shows a lovely note of marzipan along with musky, spicy, floral notes. Perfect for spicy seafood. Available at select B.C. private stores, including Hastings Liquor Store and Richmond Liquor Store, as well as direct from the winery (okanagancrushpad.com). The Lunar New Year Red, a blend of light gamay and peppery syrah, at $22.90, is very good as well.
