This tequila brand is featured in the backdrop of an amusing YouTube video starring George Clooney and Cindy Crawford. The minute-long reel finds Clooney in a partner-swapping situation set to a song with the recurring verse "let's straighten it out." In the first scene, the model's husband, Rande Gerber, walks through the door to find his wife in bed with the actor. In the next, a puzzled Clooney walks in on Crawford in bed with another woman. Finally, the two women catch Clooney under the sheets with Gerber.
The two men did not charge for their appearances – because they own the spirit brand. Created years ago to their own specifications and, they say, for their own consumption (100 cases were served in Venice to guests at Clooney's marriage to Amal Alamuddin last year), the tequila-loving pair eventually went commercial with friend and partner Mike Meldman. I'm glad they did. It's excellent, and now available in Western Canada and Ontario. The blanco is very smooth, suggesting sweet pineapple and pear, with a gently smoky note, tangy herbs and cracked pepper.
