Well-made, textbook zinfandel from the warm Lodi region. This is a smooth and intensely fruity red, with essences of blueberry syrup, plum jam and, oddly yet pleasantly, even pineapple. Admirable balance comes from juicy, lively acidity, moderately dry tannins and a suggestion of baking spices; $20.99 in B.C. (on sale for $17.99 until Jan. 2), various prices in Alberta, $25.99 in Saskatchewan, $22 in Quebec.
