This boldly flavoured red is made under the guidance of noted Italian consultant Alberto Antonini (whose other projects include the excellent Haywire wines of British Columbia). Hand-harvested, fermented with wild yeasts and matured for 12 months in French oak, it's ripe and generous, exhibiting a fresh grape-must quality as well as plum and chocolate. The oak and tannins are smooth and well integrated. A fine example of Argentine malbec's crowd-pleasing character. Grilled beef or spicy chili would be grand. Available in Ontario at the above price, various prices in Alberta.
