It's a mouthful, and I suspect the sheer weight of this wine, combined with the decent price, is what makes it such a crowd-pleaser. At 15-per-cent alcohol, it's certainly ripe, with notes of prune and raisin mingling with fresh plum on a smooth texture. Yet there's lively spice to keep it dancing on the palate. $19.90 in B.C., $17.60 in Quebec, $15.99 in Nova Scotia.
