wine review

This is a rarity and a wine style easily confused with two others in Italy. It's not from Alba in Piedmont, home to barbera, nebbiolo and dolcetto "d'Alba." Nor is it a Lacryma Christi from the region around Naples. Lacrima di Morro is a red grape largely grown in the central Marche region, an unusually floral variety with lively spice. This one is right on the money, with candied cherry in the foreground and a rose-petal perfume. Full-bodied yet bright with acidity, it's got a chewy texture. Grilled pork chops would be a fine match. Available in Ontario.
