One thing was clear: Stars steered away from political statements and overly decadent designs. There was no Cher, Billy Porter or Björk-level drama (fingers crossed we’ll get some at the Oscars). Instead, an abundance of polished looks reaffirmed that glamour, craftsmanship and old-school Hollywood still mean business.
