Exactly when does the romance die in a marriage? After 10 years and 11 months, according to new research.
A survey of 3,000 married people found that's when couples begin to feel bored with each other, according to the Daily Mail.
It gets worse.
Six in 10 people surveyed said they often need to be reminded why they got married in the first place; 12 per cent said they couldn't remember the last time their partner paid them a compliment; and a fifth said they no longer get excited at the idea of making love to their partners.
Perhaps most depressing of all, the research, conducted by a dating website, also found that a quarter of respondents said they no longer bother going out together or making "romantic gestures."
Which means it might be time to plan a date night with that special someone in your life.
"It takes a very special someone to step back from everyday life and realize it takes a bit of effort to keep the romance alive," a spokesperson for the website told the Daily Mail.
