Being a corporate big wig doesn't qualify you to work the fast food counter.
Subway's chief development officer Don Fertman found out the hard way after he was ordered to wash dishes and take out the trash.
Mr. Fertman, who's worked for the company more than 29 years, had never actually made one of his company's sandwiches. That is, until a recent episode of Undercover Boss .
The television program followed Mr. Fertman as he struggled to keep up as a store employee, and tested the patience of his 19-year-old manager. After taking more than three minutes to put together customers' orders - which the exasperated manager deemed was far too long, Mr. Fertman was told to stop serving and go to the back of the store to do dishes, wash windows and perform other grunt work.
"Welcome to Subway, sweetheart," the teenage manager said. "Welcome to Subway."
